Choosing your LED grow lights

Full-spectrum LEDs mimic natural daylight and work well for mixed towers growing several plant types at once, the safer default if you're not optimising for one specific crop.

Red-blue panels are more energy-efficient for leafy greens and herbs specifically, since those wavelengths cover most of what's needed for vegetative growth, but they're less forgiving if you later add flowering or fruiting plants.

For a standard Hydroponic Tower Pro in an apartment setting, aim for 25–30 watts of actual LED draw per tier, positioned 15–20cm above the canopy and raised as plants grow.

Run lights for 12–14 hours a day for leafy greens and herbs. More isn't always better, plants need a dark period to complete their growth cycles properly.

All Verditek towers ship with LED lighting pre-fitted and calibrated for the tower's specific tier spacing, so this is mainly useful if you're customising or expanding beyond the standard configuration.
